Investment in expansion on track for growth through digital technology, taking business capabilities to the global level

Amway, a top leader in Thailand's direct selling company, has invested 40 million baht to open its new distribution center at TPARK Bangplee 1. Developed by TICON Logistics Park Company Limited (TPARK), the new facility covers more than 10,000 square meters and is fully equipped with digital technology that is believed to take its business capabilities and operations to the global level. It also facilitates the path to success of Amway Business Owners, maximizes customer experience and ensures a strong foundation for the continuous growth of Amway's business.

"Amway has a strategic plan to further develop our distribution center and overall logistics management system. This aims to encourage success of Amway Business Owners, enhance customer experience and build a strong foundation for continuous growth in the future," said Mr. Kittawat Ritteerawee, Managing Director of Amway (Thailand) Limited. "We have already moved our distribution center to the new facility at TPARK Bangplee 1, which provides a space of 10,280 square meters. To make it fully operational, we have spent 40 million baht on installations of innovative work process and advanced logistics technology in the warehouse in order to achieve globally recognized standards of operation. Importantly, the recent move helps shorten time to market, reduce costs and enable more complex operations."

He continued, "With more space, warehousing capacity has been increased by 50% so that it will be able to facilitate long-term growth with more inbound and outbound goods to be handled. We have adopted lean principles, which are meant to maximize the efficiency of work process, starting from the design of workflow that covers the reception of goods, storage and distribution. By using the innovative Digital Picking System, products can be stored and then distributed to Amway Business Owners and members, and timely available for home delivery and all 83 Amway Shops nationwide. This digitally detected and controlled work process helps increase speed and precision in goods management while reducing operational costs. In addition, quicker loading of goods to any vehicle is possible through the use of Digital Loading System that allows tracking of status digitally without using printed documents. These new technology developments are put in the priority list at Amway as we plan and prepare for future growth."

"Amway has chosen TPARK Bangplee 1 for our new one-stop distribution center because TPARK is well-positioned to offer a world-class warehousing facility in a strategic location that best fits our logistics needs. And most importantly, it is scalable and could keep up with our future warehousing expansion," said the managing director.

Mr. Virapan Pulges, Chief Executive Officer of TICON Industrial Connection Public Company Limited (TICON), the parent company of TPARK, the leading developer of international standard quality warehouses in Thailand, said, "TPARK is very delighted that Amway is confident in our expertise in the development of high-quality warehouses as well as fully-equipped infrastructure TPARK Bangplee 1 provided. The high quality floor of our warehouse, which is durable, smooth, level and flat, makes it ideal for logistics operation. The 10-meter height of the building allows for multi-storey racking, thus helping customers to reduce storage and warehouse management costs. Warehouse design with 2-way loading docks improves the convenience of dealing with inbound and outbound goods. The facility was built for energy saving purpose along with its excellent ventilation system that gives employees a higher level of comfort. Other advantages include customer service by our dedicated team of industry specialists."

TPARK is certain that TPARK Bangplee 1 is an ideal location for seamless and smoother distribution of Amway's products. The reason is that it is located on Bangna Trad Road, KM.22 and near Bangkok city, Suvarnabhumi Airport, Ladkrabang Inland Container Depot (ICD) and Laem Chabang Port. It is also situated in close vicinity to the Industrial Ring Road that links a network of highways to and from every part of Thailand. These enable quick transportation of goods and offer maximum cost efficiency. Moreover, in Bangplee area, TPARK owns a total of more than 600 rais of land already developed and in the process of development, accounting for a total warehousing space of over 500,000 square meters. This will benefit both existing customers, who are looking to expand their warehousing space in timely preparation for business growth, and new customers who have urgent requests for warehousing space. We are available to serve them immediately."

"Amway is our first customer from the direct selling company. It is considered a positive sign for TPARK that we are taking an active role in business expansion of Amway, who is the market leader in direct-selling with a variety of products sold to consumers. TPARK also believes that our strategic location coupled with the quality of our warehousing facility is perfect for being a distribution center for direct selling company. We see this could be advantageous for growth of the entire industry in the long run," said Virapan.
