Hajj 2017: Women Attend in Large Numbers

The annual Hajj pilgrimage unites millions of people in the heart of the Arabian Peninsula – the birthplace of Islam. This year, the Kingdom has welcomed more than 2.35 million people from every culture and corner of the globe, including a large number of women. A core value of the pilgrimage is equality of the sexes and millions of women have performed Hajj, and for this year, women pilgrims are at a near equal number to men.
