World Animal Protection Thailand represented by Ms. Suvimol Boontarom, Head of Communications, Marketing and Fundraising (second left), together with Dr. Kate Blaszak, Global Farm Animals Advisor (far left), recently congratulated Mr. Vanus Taepaisitphongse, Chief Executive Officer of Betagro Group (third left), and other executives, on the achievements from working together to improve the lives of pigs and chickens in their business. A key achievement was the recent Betagro announcement to phase out crate systems for breeding pigs – the first in Southeast Asia. This initiative will improve the welfare of breeding pigs and quality of pork products for better consumer health. Animal welfare is part of Betagro Quality Management that aims to take animal husbandry to a higher level and treat animals in a more humane way.
