The chefs at Yamazato, The Okura Prestige Bangkok's Michelin Plate signature Japanese restaurant, welcome spring with special Gozen lunch platters and a Kaiseki dinner featuring the freshest of seasonal delicacies.

In addition to succulent sashimi, the first Spring Gozen lunch platter includes a starter featuring the highlight ingredient of firefly squid with clams, wakame seaweed, leek, and miso sauce, and a soup of shrimp dumpling with mushrooms and canola flower. The second more extensive platter includes assorted tempura and dishes of grilled sea bass with miso citrus; and simmered pork belly with taro, sakura-shaped carrot and a sauce made of special seasonal mountain vegetables.

Authentic tastes of Japan in springtime continue with the Kaiseki dinner. Stand-out dishes include a starter of firefly squid, mussel, shrimp, mountain vegetables, and spicy miso vinegar, a soup of clam dumpling, mushroom, sakura blossoms, and a touch of yuzu, grilled amberjack with miso and sakura leaves; simmered sea bream roe, grilled shiitake mushroom, taro, eggplant, bamboo shoot and butterbur; and a noodle dish of vermicelli with sakura shrimp served with gourd shavings and sushi roll. Assorted fruits and sakura mocha end a delightful meal.
