KING POWER GROUP UNDER THE 'KING POWER THAI POWER’ PROJECT SIGNS COLLABORATION WITH MINISTRY OF TOURISM AND SPORTS TO LAUNCH 'PALANG KHON THAI, SUKHA SUKJAI’ Building 70 Public Restrooms in Tourist Areas Worth Over 10 Million Baht

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Chief Executive Officer, King Power Group today signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports to build 70 public restrooms in Tourist Areas in Thailand under the project 'Palang Khon Thai, Sukha Sukjai' at Eternity Room, Pullman King Power Bangkok Hotel.

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Chief Executive Officer, King Power Group reveals "King Power is determined to implement corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives under the 'KING POWER THAI POWER' concept to create useful activities for Thais and to drive Thailand's economy, society and environment. Supporting the Minister of Tourism and Sports policy, we together aim to reflect positive image of tourist destinations among Thai and overseas tourists and to focus on enhancing public facilities as part of our local tourism revolution. The drive will improve local community's living standards and give local tourism more boost. 'Palang Khon Thai, Sukha Sukjai' a 10 Million baht project funded by King Power Group for building 70 restrooms nationwide, is intended to elevate the standard of public utilities in local community tourist destinations."

Working hand in hand on this project, King Power and related government sectors have explored new opportunities, developing innovative solutions that enable comfortable utilities for Thais and tourists. Restrooms are basic necessities and is also one of the key factors to create good impressions at tourist destinations. Guidelines were established to ensure equal access to public facilities and services to people with disabilities. Our project sets out design and customized engineering standards to make sure that good-quality and safe restrooms are accessible to men, women and disabled people.

Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports said "Tourism in local communities is continuously expanding. We need to proactively develop these communities and its utilities in every aspect especially restrooms and toilets. Aimed at boosting tourism in local communities in a long term and lifting the sector's contribution to economic growth, clean, hygienic and handicapped-friendly facilities are urgently needed. We hope to complete this project by end 2018."

Joining today's event is Tik – Jesdaporn Pholdee also well-known as a wanderluster, explorer and eco-tourism tv producer sharing his personal views on travel lifestyles and tourist favorites.

For those communities who are interested in joining this project will need to meet these requirements; an area of 5 x 10 meters, have at least 500-1,000 inbound visitors per week, can take care of the restrooms themselves with a group of 5-7 appointed committees, must by free of charge, must be located in a public area for public use only and submit an A4-essay introducing your tourist attraction and why you should be granted this sponsorship.
