Photo Release: Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety

Pol. Col. Chatchai Sumnieng, Superintendent of the Sub-Division 5, Traffic Police Division, presented an opening remark at a training to strengthen communication skills of 50 traffic police officers, middle executives for the operation level, under the topic of "Effective Communication for Enhanced Enforcement" by Mr. Marcin Flieger (Colonel) and Mr. Blaise Murphet from the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) during April 24-25, 2018 in Bangkok. The objective of the training, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS), is to enhance understanding of the role of media in road safety campaigns, develop strategies to attract media attention to enforcement campaigns as well as tactics for successful communication with journalists for sustainable road safety improvement.

Aiming to utmost reduce traffic injuries and road accidents in Bangkok, the Initiative involves campaigns to increase road safety awareness and behavioral changes such as drink don't drive, limited speeding, seat belt fastening and helmet wearing, and implementation of safer roads improvement in Bangkok.
