C.P. Myanmar strive for enhancing Myanmar kids nutrition through the 2nd year of Milk for Kid program

C.P. Livestock Co., Ltd. (C.P. Myanmar), under Charoen Pokphand Group (CPG) by employee volunteers group named "Doing Good Deed" group keeps running "Milk for Kids" for 2 consecutive year to enable Myanmar kids in Rangon to have better nutrition.

Mr. Wirat Wongpornpakdee, President of C.P. Myanmar said that H.E. U Phyo Min Thein, Chief Minister of Yangon Region ,participates in a special lunch arranged for ophans students and novice monks at Ayudiga Monastery School, Mingalar Don Township in Yangon region of Myanmar. This activity was held under the 2nd "Milk for Kids" project started by "Doing Good Deed" group. "Doing Good Deed" was formed by C.P. Myanmar employees to do social activities benefit to their community.

"Milk for Kids" project, started since 2017, have been donating pasteurized milk every week for students of 9 primary schools located nearby C.P. Myanmar's offices, processing plants and livestock farms in Yangon region Ayudiga Monastery school, 1 of 9 granted schools, adopts more than 500 orphans and disadvantaged students. Pasteurized fresh milk supported from C.P. Myanmar for almost 2 years help improve its students nutrition.

"C.P.Myanmar moves on "Milk for Kids" for 2 consecutive years as we realize milk's nutrition value plays an important role for kid's growth and development. Milk donation will help enable children in Rangon access to adequate nutrition foods to enhance their quality of life," said Wirat.

About one and a half year since the project started, "Doing Good Deed" group has delivered over 30,000 litre of hygiene and good quality milk to 9 schools nearby C.P.Myanmar's office, processing plants, and farms in Yangon, benefiting over 2,700 kids of these schools drink milk everyday. With concrete outcome, C.P. Myanmar will continue to work on this project and also initiate other new programs to address the essential needs for physical growth and mental development of Myanmar children.

This project initiated in response to Myanmar government campaign to promote dairy cattle farming careers to its farmers in order to boost milk production and quality protein source for kids and people.

In 2014, the government of Myanmar joined hands with Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) to established the training center for developing career relating cattle farming and dairy production. CP Group Senior President Dhanin Chearavanont and CP employees also support fund aids to set up a prototype of modern cattle farm and dairy milk factory for education propose. Today, the training center and belongs to Myanmar's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation. C.P. Myanmar team up with its suppliers and customers raised funds to buy milk from this prototype dairy farm and donate to schools locating surrounding the company in Yangon region. These practices are in line with CP Group's social responsibility policy relating building food security and sustainable environment and society.
