H.E. Mr. Jacques Lapouge, French ambassador to Thailand and Mr. Eric Sayettat, the embassy's Economic Counsellor, recently visited Thai Gypsum plants and facilities at Laem Chabang, Chonburi – one of the Asia-Pacific's largest and most technologically advanced gypsum board plants – in order to observe its manufacturing processes that operate under "Gyproc Go Green" or "3G" philosophy, which focuses on conserving natural resources and reducing pollution in order to help reduce contributors to global warming. The special VIP guests were taken on an exclusive tour by Nicolas Godet, CEO Construction Products Southeast Asia at Saint-Gobain, Sylvain Bredin, Managing Director of Thai Gypsum Products Public Company Limited and Apirak Chaisiripanit, Plant Manager of the Laem Chabang facilities and other members of the Gyproc management team.

The Laem Chabang Plant is Thailand's first and only Green Label certified manufacturing facility. The certification was presented by Singapore Institute of Science (SIS) and New Zealand Environmental Choice, and serves as the latest example of how the superior quality of Gyproc products can be produced with less environmental impact than its rivals' products. The plant has prospered and continues to lead in the innovation of gypsum wall and ceiling solutions, which focus on conserving natural resources and reducing pollution. Gyproc products are manufactured and marketed with utmost respect for sustainability and are guaranteed to meet the technological standards for energy efficiency and safety requirements.

A component of Gyproc's vision is to preserve natural resources and reduce pollution in order to sustainably help reduce global warming. Therefore, Gyproc has created its Gyproc 3G methodology as part of its dedication to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions and services to customers and to clients while taking steps to preserve our precious environment. Gyproc's Green Products include Gyproc gypsum boards and ceiling systems which are ASTM D5116-90 compliant; the level of dispersion/evaporation of chemicals from Gyproc products does not exceed required standards, and the use of eco-friendly, recycled materials is not less than 30%. Products are free of radioactive agents and health-threatening elements such as cadmium and lead. Green Solutions includes full wall and ceiling energy-saving solutions to prevent heat transmission into the building from outside, reducing the load on air conditioning and reducing CO2 emissions. Green Manufacturing processes are environmentally compassionate, including in the installation of wastewater treatment technology and energy-efficient systems with ISO 14001 certification and Green Label certification.
