29TH JAN – 5TH FEB 2019 CENTRALWORLD CELEBRATES THE AUSPICIOUS YEAR OF THE PIG WITH SPECTACULAR CHINESE ARTS & CULTURAL EVENT, “THE WORLD OF WEALTH”

CentralWold Shopping Complex led by Dr.Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Executive Vice President-Marketing of Central Pattana PCL., invites general public to experience the spectacular arts and cultural event of the year flew in directly from Tianjin, China in "The Great Chinese New Year 2019". With the concept "The World of Wealth", the event is packed with arts and cultural shows ranging from performances from Tianjin, "Yang Liu Qing" new year paintings exhibition, a 3 meters tall statue of Guanyin or Goddess of Mercy, silver and golden bells that have been blessed by Chinese Buddhist monks for good fortune.

The event will be held at Beacon Zone 2 on 29 January, at Square A, you will be amazed by the giant display of golden dragon show on "The Panoramix", the world largest interactive digital screen. In addition, Ajarn Jittra Kornontakiat, the expert who has accumulated knowledge on anything related to Chinese for over 30 years will preside over the opening of dragon eye ceremony.

She will invite the public to walk through under the auspicious dragon's belly for good fortune while giving how-to tips to boost personal luck and fortune throughout the year of the pig. On 3rd February, the public will be treated with the magnificent lion dance show by Kun Seng Keng, the multi-award and world champion lion dance troupe from Malaysia. They will perform lion dance on plum blossom pole adorned with LED lights. Another not-to-be-missed activity is "The wOrld of Lantern" with stunning 10-meter lantern symbolized wealth and prosperity. Furthermore, upon entering the event, the public will be greeted with many angels gracefully flying and dancing spreading happiness from high above amidst the spectacular lights, color and sound while shopping, praying, eating and be entertained during 29th January – 5th February 2019 at Eden 1, Eden 2, Central Court, Beacon 2 and Square A areas of CentralWorld Shopping Complex.

Tianjin is the 3rd largest city in China, the gateway to Beijing and sometimes known as "Shanghai of the North". It's also a major seaport with many western architectural design buildings." The 6 major sets that will be showing at Central Court are:

1. Lotus Dance

It tells a story of children playing happily together against backdrops of sailing, water splashing, lotus selecting, lotus picking and homebound journey on boat. The innocent and lively dance symbolizes a wealthy and happy life among ordinary people. It accentuates the uniqueness of local Tianjin.

2. Drum Dance with Lanterns

Inspired by many auspicious pictures of Chinese New Year tradition, it's based on world's renowned Yangliuqing New Year Paintings by Chinese artists which has become an important part of traditional Chinese culture. The performance begins with a scene of "A timely heavy snow promises a good harvest" alongside another scene of "Family lanterns in abundance" that would shine through every area of the country with drumbeat to excite and captivate audience. It portrays a lively celebration in spring festival among Chinese people.

3. Kung Fu show

Presented by teachers and students from Tianjin Huo Yuanjia School of Culture and Martial Arts in Xiqing district, Tianjin city. This is the birthplace of the legendary Kung Fu master "Huo Yuanjia" who laid the historic and cultural foundation with his solemn but dignified Kung Fu movements and strong utterance. It reveals patriotic and righteous spirit and the Kung Fu spirit of perseverance and openness.

4. Chinese zither performance "Flowing Water"

Ma Xiaoguang performs "Flowing Water" on Chinese zither, the oldest musical instrument of China. The music piece depicts the murmur of mountain spring originating from cliffs, gathering momentum and turning turbulence rapidly, finally subsiding in a quiet pond and then running further like "Flowing Water"

5. Peking Opera "The Drunken Beauty"

A one character Chinese opera by a student from Mei Lanfang, Academy of Traditional Chinese Opera. The performance encaptuates perfectly the charm in make-up and costume of tradition Chinese opera

6. New-year Doll Dance

Live performance by13 dancers, each wears a wooden carved mask "New-year doll" featured in numerous Yangliuqing New Year Paintings. It's colorful and fun dance.

At Beacon 2 zone will hold "The wOrld Of Wealth Art & Exhibition "Yang Liu Qing", on exhibit are many priceless paintings depicting "Wealth" are Yangliuqing New Year painting is the cultural heritage of Yangliuqing city using woodblock printing technique and bright colors to depict stories of new year celebration, Yangliuqing kites exhibition and Li Family's fruit-pit carving. Li Family's mini carving uses pits from peach, apricot, olive and walnuts as raw materials and meticulously turning into artful design handicrafts with various themes such as poetry, fisherman's happiness, flower basket as well as "Pi Yao" (Pi Xiu), the mythical winged lion that many Chinese people believe that it could ward off evil spirit. Furthermore, there will be a photo exhibition featuring the alluring charm of heaven on earth. It's a collection of 17 photos capturing the serene beauty of rural villages in China by Chinese photographers.
