Tuole Forum 2019 Opens in Panzhou, Guizhou

On October 15, Tuole Forum 2019 with the theme of "Integrating into 'Belt and Road' Construction and Sharing Benefits of an Open World Economy" opened at the Tuole Village Convention Center in Panzhou City, Guizhou Province.

He Li, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Guizhou Provincial People's Congress, announced the opening of Tuole Forum 2019.

Sun Chengyi, Vice Chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, saying that China and ASEAN are connected by mountains and rivers, and enjoy cultural exchanges and a long history of friendly communications.

Wang Zhong, Secretary of the Liupanshui Municipal Committee of the CPC, said at the opening ceremony that, since its first session in 2016, the Tuole Forum has become a "Tuole Channel" for friendly exchanges among Liupanshui and even Guizhou Province, ASEAN and countries along the "Belt and Road".

Laos' Ambassador to China, Khamphau Ernthavan, said that since Laos and China established diplomatic relations in 1961, bilateral relations and friendship have developed in an all-round way, and in recent years, practical cooperation between China and ASEAN has been further strengthened, both in industrial investment and trade, further promoting mutual benefits and win-win results of both sides.

Wang Yu, Deputy Director General of the Department of Outward Investment and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, said that in recent years, China-ASEAN international cooperation in production capacity and investment has achieved new results. The cooperation in such fields as international production capacity, digital economy and e-commerce has been actively promoted, giving a strong boost to the construction of relevant industrial systems in host countries.

At the forum, Hu Weiping, President of China Overseas Development Association, delivered a speech. Vladimir Imamovich Norov, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Kanaiym Baktygulova, Kyrgyz Ambassador to China, sent a letter of congratulation respectively.

Tuole Forum, as an important platform for deepening the opening-up, cooperation and exchange of Guizhou Province, has been held annually since 2016. ASEAN and 26 countries along the Belt and Road participated in the forum and had exchanges with more than 2,100 Chinese enterprises. Chinese and foreign enterprises have signed cooperation projects covering digital cities, tourism, health care and other fields, with a contract amount of RMB 39.445 billion.
