Esso Supporting Vocational Science Projects in Practice with Communities

Esso in cooperation with the Science Society of Thailand, Office of the Vocational Education Commission and Startup Thailand of the National Innovation Agency extended innovation efforts from Vocational Science Contest to communities for practical implementation.

Dr. Taweesak Bunluesin (Standing row 6th from left), Director of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited presided over the opening ceremony of “Knowledge Sharing on Roof Insulation Technology from Natural Materials” which was held at Ban Khlong Hua Khu Community, Moo 10, Bangpholwong Sub-district, Ban Sang District, Prachinburi province. This was one of award- winning innovation teams at the 29th Vocational Science Project Contest. Participants at the event included Dr. Wichai Cheunchart (Standing row 5th from right), Deputy Director of Prachinburi Technical College and Khun Rerai Sud-Ha (Standing row 3rd from right), Chief of Ban Khlong Hua Khu community.

Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited together with the Science Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King, Office of the Vocational Education Commission and Startup Thailand of the National Innovation Agency selected 4 projects out of the total 40 proposals from last year contest which have good potential for knowledge transfer to their needed communities per following.

  • The 2 projects from High Vocational Level are the project on roof heat insulation made from natural materials such as bamboo and rubber by Prachinburi Technical College, Prachinburi province and the project on food containers made from banana fiber with water-resistant quality by Sisaket Technical College, Sisaket province.
  • Another 2 projects from Vocational Level are the project on foods for millipede to increase its propagation and excretion as plant fertilization by TrakarnPhuedPhon Technical College, Ubon Ratchathani province and the project on making film from pectin and the core of loligo squid to prevent access of water in wound healing by Suranaree Technical College, Nakhon Ratchasima province.

Esso has continuously supported the vocational science contest for over 30 years in recognizing importance of innovations to enhance community growth. The awarded projects were considered on effective solutions to their community issues as well as potential to be developed to support community needs and professions.
