HP Launches Inaugural Digital Print Awards in Asia

HP today announced the call for entries for its inaugural Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) HP Digital Print Awards 2008. The Awards will be open to companies from across Asia Pacific and Japan for entries printed on HP Indigo Presses, and will provide recognition for outstanding achievements and innovations in the print and label & packaging industries.
Held in conjunction with the InfoTrends Digital Printing Seminar 2008, the Awards will culminate in the APJ HP Digital Print Awards Dinner on 27 August 2008, providing an excellent platform for companies to showcase their work to the digital print community, buyers, print service providers and their peers.
"Through the HP Digital Print Awards, HP aims recognize companies which have achieved exceptional work in the print and label and packaging industries. We hope that the shortlisted entries will serve as an inspiration to their peers and demonstrate the high standards which can be achieved with HP Indigo Presses,” said Mr. Ditaporn Kongprayoon, Marketing Development Manager, Large Format Printer, Hewlett-Packard (Thailand) Ltd.
The Awards will be divided into eight print categories which include:
- Marketing Collaterals
- Limited Editions and Art Reproductions
- Books and Manuals Printing
- Photo Books/ Coffee Table Books
- Packaging
- Labels and Flexible Packaging
- Specialty Printing, and
- Events and Campaigns.
Entries will be judged by a panel which consists of well known and well qualified leaders from every major segment of the graphics arts industry from the region. Judges will review all completed submissions and assess each entry based on the following criteria:
- Degree of innovation and creativity
- Marketing appeal
- Best use of digital technology
- Paper selection
- Best use of ink and color
- Finishing and packaging, and
- Overall aesthetics
Participants can submit entries for multiple categories, and will need to submit their entries in both printed and soft copy, along with the completed entry form for each category.
