Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, joins hands with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to host the “Thailand LTE and Beyond Summit 2014”. During this important event at the Centara Grand Hotel @ Central World Bangkok on Thursday, May 8, Huawei demonstrates how LTE/LTE-A (Long-Term Evolution Advanced) technology can enrich the communication and life of Thai users in the near future.

Under the theme “LTE-Inspiring the Life”, local and foreign operators, as well as chipset providers, industry analysts and vendors will be on hand to share their views on the evolution of LTE/LTE-A (Long Term Evolution Advance) and discuss in depth what can be expected with its deployment and commercialization in Thailand.

“This is the first live LTE-A demonstration in Thailand using Huawei advanced technology with inter-band CA (Carrier Aggregation) with a maximum speed of 300Mbps,” said Mr. Ying Weimin, Huawei President for GSM/UMTS/LTE Networks. “The other typical LTE services of VoLTE and eMBMS are also displayed, to demonstrate what LTE can bring to subscribers.”

“LTE is an industry of considerable maturity. There are currently 1,563 LTE user devices and 636 of these are smartphones. The next decade will see huge changes in LTE technology in terms of applications and data traffic growth. This technology will connect more people while enhancing customer experience with greater speed, capacity and lower latency. In cooperation with local operators, Huawei is ready to take the LTE technology in Thailand to the next level,” he added.

Mr Ying noted that as of March 2014, Huawei has signed more than 290 commercial LTE contracts, deployed 133 commercial LTE networks and 113 commercial EPC networks; more than any other company. With a business network spread across six continents, Huawei LTE covers more than 100 capitals and top global financial centers including London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Zurich, Seoul, Tokyo, Geneva, and Toronto. To date, Huawei has helped the following global leading operators launch commercial LTE services: Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, EE, Etisalat, Bell, MTS, SoftBank, STC, Telefonica, Telenor, TeliaSonera, TELUS among others.

In 2013, Huawei LTE revenue reached 2.5 billion USD, and 4 billion is forecasted for 2014 by continuous investment in R&D and offer the innovative and mature E2E solution to its customers.

Huawei’s 4G LTE promises faster video streaming and Internet downloads, without any hitches, suitable for video conferencing. 4G LTE is the latest standard for wireless communication of high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals. Compared with 3G, LTE can provide better user experience with higher capacity. It will deliver no-waiting internet browsing, no-waiting video call, no-waiting video browsing, VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) and many more new services and better overall experience.
