Dell Leaps into its Third Decade, and Efficient Marketing through Social Media and 360-degree Marketing

Among the celebrations surrounding Dell’s milestone of 30 years in business, its origins can be traced back to 1984, when Michael Dell created a new phenomenon in the global IT industry, namely, the successful development of the PC when he was merely 19 years old. Dell Corporation (Thailand) was set up to carry on with the marketing strategy to push Dell to the forefront of the consumer market, following much success in the commercial market. This year, Dell Corporation (Thailand) also proudly announced that it once again received number-one brand recognition in Thailand and ASEAN, garnering the most favorable brand status on facebook and twitter platforms, according to the rankings conducted by ZocialRank.

Mr. Anothai Wettayakorn, managing director of Dell Corporation (Thailand) Co., Ltd., revealed that, in the consumer market segment, “Dell has employed social media and 360-degree marketing as a main marketing strategy to penetrate the consumer market. It took us only 5 years to build consumer recognition in Thailand. Throughout this time, despite the economic setbacks, Dell has been able to continuously grow its sales, thanks to the quality associated with the brand ‘s products, as well as its technological innovations and on-site services that offer repair work right on the customer’s premises, handing the product back into the customer’s hands.”

Mr. Wettayakorn added, “This past May, when Dell marked its 30th anniversary, we were able to garner over 7 million fans on our global facebook fan page.” In 2014, Dell has plans to boost the market with new products under the Inspiron brand, which will be launched continuously. This will be led by Dell Inspiron 3000 and 5000 series, featuring selling points in quality and design, and a battery with a longer life; and the Dell UltraSharp 4K model UP3214Q and Dell UltraSharp 24 Ultra HD U2414H.
