Thailand has long been considered a leader in Information Technology products and services. Ranked 6th on the A.T. Kearney Global Services Location Index, which is based on a country's financial attractiveness, people skills and availability and business environment, Thailand is facing serious competition from Malaysia (ranked 3rd), Indonesia (ranked 5th), the Philippines (ranked 7th) and Vietnam (ranked 12th). The academic partnership between Aware and CAMT has been formed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and its application in the working world. This will ensure the skills developed by students over the course of their university education improve the innovation and competiveness of Thailand’s IT industry.
Thailand’s IT sector is expected to grow 7.2% to $22.4 billion this year, and universities are aiming to produce 50,000 business technology students per year to support Thailand's growing IT sector.
