Bureau of Community Industry Development, Department of Industrial Promotion, held a press conference to launch "Digital OTOP Top Thai By D.I.P." contest, encouraging the entrepreneurs of community enterprise to promote their products via digital media and win the prize worth totally 120,000 baht. The contest aimed to create and elevate the standard of OTOP products to enter AEC. The interest entrepreneurs can apply today till August 28, 2015.

Mrs. Nisakorn Jungjaroentham, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP), said, "It is the Department's policy to develop and enhance the competence of SMEs and OTOP entrepreneurs to be aligned with the country's direction to develop Digital Economy. The Department therefore initiates five projects, namely New Digital Entrepreneur, IT for Smart SMEs, Digital for OTOP, Digital Knowledge Society and Digital Service Provider.

The Department focuses on developing all OTOP entrepreneurs at any sizes. Since nowadays only few know about this media and can apply their technological knowledge to their business, the Department held Digital for OTOP Project in March 2015, with 340 participating entrepreneurs, to educate them on digital technology and how to use digital media and online network to improve their marketing skill. To continue the project, the Department is now holding "Digital OTOP Top Thai By D.I.P." contest to encourage the entrepreneurs of community enterprise to promote and market their products in digital media. The winners will not only receive the prize worth totally 120,000 baht, but also display their products in Thailand Industry Expo 2015 to create and elevate the standard for OTOP products to enter AEC."

In the press conference, Rasri 'Margie' Balenciaga shared the experience on her online business. She revealed, "Besides acting, I started the accessory business under the brand of 'I*m Brand', which I take care of the whole process, from designing to selling. The distribution channels include setting up booths in the event and using online media like Instagram. I think online media is crucial for the market these days because more Thai people like to shop online, especially ladies who do not have much time for shopping. They can now shop via Facebook or Instagram, which is a lot easier."

The entrepreneurs interested in joining "Digital OTOP Top Thai By D.I.P." contest can send their products to digitalotop@gmail.com now till August 28, 2015. For further information, please call02-616-4614 or visit www.facebook.com/digitalotop.
