SAS' top 2014 environmental achievements include:
Generated 3.8 million kWh of clean, renewably sourced energy from rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems.
Decreased energy consumption and related greenhouse gas emissions, despite adding office space.
Improved CDP score to 88 with a B performance rating.
Diverted 50 percent of operational waste and 88 percent of construction waste from landfills globally.
Decreased global water consumption by 1.9 percent, while increasing reclaimed water usage by 41 percent.
Achieved LEED® Gold certification for newest office building.
Installed 18 new charging stations for employees and dedicated premium parking spaces for electric vehicle plug-in stations globally.

Other recent sustainability honors
Completed in October 2014, Building Q is now the company's seventh LEED certified building, achieving a Gold certification. The 23rd building on SAS campus in Cary houses SAS Solutions on demand, supporting our customers' growing demand for SAS Cloud Analytics solutions. Cloud
implementations lower the cost of hardware and infrastructure for customers and lower resource usage by reducing the technology footprint.
Mr.Taveesak Saengthong, Managing Director, SAS Software (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said SAS recently won the 2015 Corporate Challenge Teamwork Award at EarthShare North Carolina's Corporate Earth Day Celebration. The team volunteered for an afternoon at the local nonprofit SEEDS organization in Durham, NC, and completed a perimeter fencing project.
"We installed 37 feet of perimeter fencing, moved and mixed 2,580 pounds of concrete and installed five fence posts," said Jerry Williams, SAS Environmental Program Manager. "This was a great team-building exercise that was both fun and personally rewarding."
