The consumer response to Lazada's annual Online Festival, the largest online retail event of the year, has helped annual sales breach the landmark of 10 billion Baht's worth annualized gross merchandise value for the first time, highlighting Lazada's leadership in Thailand.

The Online Festival continues through December, featuring flash sales, daily best offers, product category specials, curated brands' showcase, exclusive partner promotions, and app-only deals, culminating in a three-day finale from December 10 to 12.

2015 Highlights

In 2015, the company has made significant progress in developing the online shopping landscape in Thailand. Key highlights, among others include:

Online Festival Early Success

Since registering a record number of visits (2.3 million) on the first day of sale on November 11th, the Online Festival has continued to set new records for Lazada. Key highlights of the first day include:

Over 140,000 items from 14 categories were ordered, 60% were placed via mobileHealth & Beauty and Fashion proved most popular with 60,000 units orderedThai consumers prepared for launch of 4G services with 5,000 smartphone purchases

Furthermore, brands partners including among other Bosch, L'OREAL Paris, Maybelline, Philips, Brands, Olay, and Nivea provided "buy one get one free" promotions or discount up to 50% via their dedicated shop in shops.

To ensure smooth delivery of all the ordered placed on 11.11, Lazada Express – Lazada's dedicated logistic company – worked hard with its key partners. Supported by a 5,000 sqm dedicated fulfillment center, 16 distribution hubs located nationwide, and a fleet of 440 vehicles, 70% of all items ordered on the first day of Online Festival was shipped on the same day. In addition, Lazada worked closely with cross-border sellers from the international market place platform to ship the 13,000 items ordered from them.

Lazada Marketplace – Lazada's third party business platform – offers 400,000 different items in the promotion, the widest ever promotional range offered in Thailand. Every day, about 2,000,000 items are available on the platform from 7,000 sellers.

Lazada's Online Festival is planned to close with the 3 day Grand Finale featuring the most attractive deals and exclusive launches, among others:
