True IDC Invests One Billion Baht in its Fourth Data Center True IDC-East Bangna with State-of-the-Art Technology Becoming Thailands First Data Center Certified by the Uptime Institute

True IDC, the leader in integrated data centers and cloud services in Thailand, announced its vision to help drive Thailand 4.0 with advanced IT infrastructure to enhance business competitiveness. The company is launching its latest data center, "True IDC-East Bangna," built with an investment of over one billion baht.

The new data center is Thailand's first commercial data center that is certified by the Uptime Institute in:
  • Tier Certification of Design Documents (TCDD), which certifies the functionality and capacity demonstrated in the engineering and architectural specifications of the facility.
  • Tier Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF), which certifies the facility has been constructed as designed, and verifies that it is capable of meeting the defined availability requirements.
True IDC-East Bangna is ready to fully serve the public and private sectors, medium and large-sized businesses, and multinational firms.

Mr. Punnamas Vichitkulwongsa, Vice Chairman of Ascend Group, said that "according to Gartner and Accenture, in 2018, the value of data centers and the cloud market in Thailand will reach 27 billion baht. This has driven Enterprises to incorporate cloud services as part of their IT strategies with the aim of enhancing competitiveness in Thailand's 4.0 digital business landscape. The launch of True IDC-East Bangna continues to demonstrate True IDC's leadership position by introducing Thailand's first Uptime Certified Tier 3 Data Center, which extends its strategic location coverage to Bangkok's Eastern business district from existing data centers located in True IDC-North Muangthong for northern Bangkok, True IDC-Midtown Ratchada and True IDC-Midtown Pattanakarn for central Bangkok.

"The first phase of True IDC-East Bangna is composed of 500 racks that are securely surrounded by 10 physical security layers to ensure a controlled and secure access to the world-class data center facility. True IDC-East Bangna will also be the first data center to adopt an Automated Robot Transport system to transport clients' IT equipment efficiently and safely to the provided racks," added Mr. Supparat.
