BKNIX brought together world-class experts to share knowledge on using DNS systems to increase cyber security.

THNIC Foundation and BKNIX held the BKNIX Peering Forum 2019, which is the 4th year, to discuss the major trends and outstanding topics such as DNS as a Defense Tool and 5G Driven Mechanism. There were world-class experts in the Internet exchange and cybersecurity attended this event.

Thai Network Information Center (THNIC) Foundation and BKNIX Co., Ltd., the operator of the first and only neutral internet exchange in Thailand, held the BKNIX Peering Forum 2019 in order to create opportunities in knowledge exchange and business opportunities for the Internet service provider to exchange data in both domestic and international arenas.

Assoc. Prof. Surasak Sanguanpong, a director of THNIC Foundation stated that "In organizing the BKNIX Peering Forum this year we have been honored by Dr. Paul Vixie, the CEO and founder of Farsight Security, Inc., USA, he was also inducted into "Internet Hall of Fame" as an innovator from the Internet Society in 2014, to be a keynote speaker to share knowledge in Cybersecurity and DNS as a Defense Tool which is a remarkable new approach and will be beneficial to the Internet service providers and users in the near future."

"We have continuously held BKNIX Peering Forum annually because it has incurred high benefits in overall picture of the Internet service in the National level; the local service provider will receive knowledge from the global leading person in the industry; knowledge exchange and business opportunities among the participants. Including benefits to end users from a better service in a lower price. Especially this time, we have over 200 participants joined the event, highest number ever, from 14 nationalities. In addition, our neighboring countries have joined this event more than previous years." Assoc. Prof. Surasak Sanguanpong said.

There are many trending topics in the BKNIX Peering Forum 2019, such as DNS as a Defense Tool, Securing Internet Routing, ASEAN Connectivity, 5G Driven Mechanism, etc. which were delivered by honorable speakers who are experts from Thailand and International, for example: Facebook, Cloudfare, SuperNAP, APNIC, ISOC, etc.

Beside exchanging knowledge with the speakers, there were number of meeting arrangement platform for business opportunities and cooperations among the participants who are ISPs, CDNs, IDCs, Carriers, IXPs and other related service providers from Thailand, Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Russia, Singapore, USA and Vietnam.

The BKNIX Peering Forum 2019 were sponsored by Symphony, NBTC, APNIC, Facebook, Netflix, NTT Communications Thailand, TCC Technology, 3BB, Akamai, AWS, INET, Internet Society, Supernap, THNIC and NSRC. The forum was held on May 7, 2019 at Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20.
