Bangkok--12 Nov--Thai Airways
The European Commission (EC) has concluded its investigation and dropped charges against Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) for alleged involvement in air freight collusion.

THAI Vice President of Legal and Compliance Department, Mr. Niruj Maneepun, said THAI was informed by the European Commission of the charges being dropped against Thai Airways International after the EC concluded its investigation into allegations of anti-competitive practices in the air freight businesses involving a number of carriers.

THAI is satisfied with the EC’s ruling and remains confidant that THAI, as the national carrier of the Kingdom of Thailand, has followed and continues to strictly adhere to international rules, regulations and policies of those countries to which THAI operates, including those in the EU.

This shows THAI’s strong commitment to strictly follow the company’s Good Governance principles/practices. While working in compliance with these principles, THAI places strong emphasis on enhancing greater understanding of international rules and regulations including competition laws among staff, enabling THAI to provide full support to the countries to which THAI operates.

Since 2008 THAI has set aside a contingency fund of 4.29 billion Thai baht for cases pertaining to competition laws of the different regions.
