Pattaya city and AirAsia join hands to celebrate the Pattaya Grand Sale 2011, where the whole beach city will offer bargains of up to 70% off in hotels, golf packages, restaurants, spas and many more shops and services.

The sale is aimed to attract tourists to Pattaya and stimulate more spending.

According to Mr. Ittipol Khunpluem, Mayor of Pattaya, “Pattaya’s economy is based on tourism due to its accessible connectivity and close proximity to Bangkok. It also has many tourist activities and caters to a variety of lifestyles, making it a top destination for domestic and international travelers. As a result of the tourism-based economy, Pattaya has a strong labor market.”

“This year’s Pattaya Grand Sale will bring out the best of what the city has to offer—including a variety of hotel options, sports and outdoor activities, spa and Thai massage, fresh seafood, and shopping. Whether it is a day trip or a long term stay, travelers are sure to enjoy steep discounts of up to 70% off, and other good deals until the end of September”, says Mr. Ittipol.

This year, AirAsia, in collaboration with Pattaya’s Municipal Office, is playing a huge role in offering connectivity by bringing tourists to Bangkok, before they continue their trip to other destinations such as Pattaya. The annual sale is also promoted on the plane and will be announced to passengers via fun games and activities onboard.

“AirAsia is very proud to support the Pattaya Grand Sale 2011. The beach city is one of the most popular tourist destinations that our passengers visit after arriving in Bangkok. To promote this Grand Sale, we are partnering with Roong Reuang Coach Co. Ltd, a coach service located on Suvarnabhumi Airport’s first floor. AirAsia passengers will be able to conveniently connect to Pattaya from the Bangkok airport, in less than 2 hours, at a special price”, says Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia.

“Now travelers can enjoy good value for their plane tickets and stretch their baht for even more deals in Pattaya.”, says the CEO

The Pattaya Grand Sale 2011 is supported by the private and government sector, including Chonburi Province, Thai Hotels Association-Eastern Chapter , Pattaya Business and Tourism Association, The East Coast Golf Courses Management Association, Pattaya Restaurant Club, and Chonburi Tourist Attractions Club.
