THAI Staff Join in Displaying His Majesty the King’s 84th Anniversary Flag

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) held a ceremony to present His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 7th Cycle, 84th anniversary flag to THAI employees to display in front of buildings and houses to express loyalty to His Majesty the King. Mr. Ampon Kittiampon, THAI Chairman of the Board of Directors, presided over the ceremony alongside Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI President, Management, and staff.

Mr. Ampon Kittiampon said that on the occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 84th Anniversary, the specially designed Anniversary flag with official emblem was presented to 170 organizations in the public sector, private sector, and the media. THAI earlier had received His Majesty the King’s anniversary flag from His Excellency Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.

THAI will display His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 84th anniversary flag at offices in Bangkok, in the provinces, and at overseas offices. In Bangkok, the Anniversary flag will be on display at THAI’s Head Office on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road and its offices in Larn Luang, Laksi, Operations Center, Technical Department, Catering Department, Cargo and Mail Commercial Department, Ground Equipment Services Department at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The Company has also put the official anniversary emblem on the side of all aircraft.

In honor of His Majesty the King’s 7th Cycle, 84th Birthday Anniversary, THAI launched the “Ruam Jai Thai for the King” project on 5 December 2010 whereby THAI will donate 20 baht per ticket for all THAI domestic and international tickets purchased within Thailand toward the construction of Sayamindradhiraj Medical Institute. This projects ends on 4 December 2011, and the Company anticipates reaching approximately 84 million Baht. Currently, THAI has obtained approximately 42.9 million Baht (as of 29 June 2011). The total amount of donated funds will be presented to His Majesty the King in full.
