AEON Launches New Platinum Card with THAI

AEON Thana Sinsap (Thailand) Public Company Limited, the leading retail finance company, has launched a partnership with Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) to launch a new credit card that will allow it to attract high spending individuals.

The AEON Royal Orchid Plus Platinum Card was unveiled by executives from both companies at a celebration event at Central Plaza Ladprao.
AEON, which is celebrating its 20th year of operations in Thailand, is targeting to issue 160,000 cards to Thai customers in the next five years.

“We have been doing retail finance for many years and we are the leading retail finance company in the Thai market. In Thailand, we have more than six million customers in our portfolio,” said Mr. Yasuhiko Kondo, Managing Director, AEON Thana Sinsap (Thailand) Public Company Limited.

“This year also marks a major milestone for us and it is a great opportunity for AEON to partner with THAI to launch a new platinum card in the market. I personally believe that the new card will recruit more premium customers to both companies for future business expansion,” he said.

He added: “The main concept of this card is to offer a new platinum credit card which offers cardholders the opportunity to earn one mile upon every 20 baht spending. Cardholders will also enjoy special privileges including extra bonus miles, travel insurance, passenger lounge access and also cash back from spending at hotels and restaurants all over the world.”

“This new credit card suits the needs and lifestyle of today’s diversified cardholder,” Mr. Bunnag further added. “Cardholders will receive 2,000 bonus miles from THAI after using the AEON Royal Orchid Plus Platinum card within 30 days after credit card approval. Receive yet up to another 2,000 miles for ever 4 flights flown on THAI. Take advantage of many special privileges with this credit card, such as access to THAI’s Royal Silk Lounges at Suvarnabhumi Airport and much more.”

A welcome package includes a luxury travel bag following purchases within the first billing cycle and a domestic air ticket if you spend 100,000 baht within a limited time period.
Travel privileges include cash back deals at selected restaurants, hotels, car rental companies, and certain shops.
Additional, there will be a lucky draw promotion for trips to Sapporo and Tokyo in Japan between December 2012 and March 2013.
The company believes it can attract thousands of new cardholders in the first year with a marketing campaign that involves marketing booths, promotions via its branch network and online communications.
