AirAsia Launches new "Don Mueang-Khon Kaen" route with new presenter from Khon Kaen, Nadech Kugimiya Twice daily flights to begin 28 October 2013

AirAsia bolsters its domestic network with the addition of the "Don Mueang-Khon Kaen" route, flying direct twice daily starting from 28 October 2013. Introductory promotional fares are available via all booking channels. The airline is ready to offer convenient flights for city residents from Don Mueang Airport, a fleet of brand new airplanes, and the best on-time record in Thailand.

Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, explained that the airline plans to acquire 5 additional new aircraft in Q4 of 2013, which will result in a fleet of 35 new planes by year-end. The expanded fleet will strengthen the airline's capability to offer an extensive network of domestic and international routes, along with new and exciting destinations which will be launched in the near future.

"Flights between Don Mueang-Khon Kaen will be available twice daily--in the morning and late afternoon. The route was launched in direct response to the needs of a wide array of travelers from the public to the private sector who need convenient travel to attend training sessions in the province. Having the flights depart from Don Mueang offers ease to travelers coming from the city and Thai AirAsia's high on time record in Thailand provides them with confidence. Tourists will also benefit from the opening because they will be able to travel with the lowest fares and on the newest planes with AirAsia. The route is sure to be well received" said Mr. Tassapon.

To inaugurate the introduction of the "Don Mueang-Khon Kaen" route, AirAsia is offering special promotional fares through all booking channels. Bookings can be made from now until 15 September, 2013 for travel between 28 October, 2013 and 5 August, 2014.

Along with the new route, AirAsia is also unveiling its new presenter, superstar "Nadech Kugimiya", who is originally from Khon Kaen. His approachable and energetic personality truly reflects the airline's fun and friendly character. The star was introduced in the "Flying 'til Familiar" 30 second TV advertisement which started airing on 30 August as well as the 15 second "Isan" advertisement.
