Throughout November and December at basil, Chef Kesinee invites lovers of authentic Thai cuisine to savor a selection of her exotic lemongrass dishes. The gifted chef has created a special menu that highlights one of the most essential ingredients used in the award-winning restaurant’s kitchen.

Known in Thai as ta-krai, lemongrass imparts the delightful citrus flavor and fragrance that has come to define Thai cuisine. In Chef Kesinee’s skilled hands it also adds delicate lemon notes to her fabulous desserts.

At basil, the menu of outstanding lemongrass dishes includes irresistible appetizers of moo tod ta-krai nga khao, deep fried marinated pork loin with white sesame and crispy lemongrass, and the delicious plar pla insee, spicy crispy mackerel salad with lemongrass. Diners can also enjoy Chef Kesinee’s classic tom yum gai baan, or spicy natural farm chicken soup with lemongrass.

Beautifully presented main dishes include enticing goong pad nam prik pao ta-krai oon, stir fried tiger prawns with roasted curry paste and fresh spring lemongrass, the spicy gaeng see krong moo onn bai yeera, red curry with pork spareribs with yeera leaves, and pla hima nueng ta-krai, succulent steamed snow fish with lemongrass, and more.

The unforgettable dining experience ends with woon ta-krai nom sod, a luscious lemongrass-infused panna cotta.
