Today VietJet opens its regular flight to South Korea by launching a direct route linking the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi to Seoul. The airline has also been operating a direct route from Danang City in Central Vietnam to Seoul since last week.

On the airline’s maiden flight from Seoul to the capital of Vietnam, VietJet staff proudly introduced Vietnamese culture to Korean passengers by performing a traditional folk song called Tr?ng C?m. Passengers were also offered a Vietnamese specialty, freshly grounded coffee beans from Tay Nguyen (the Central Highlands), as a complimentary souvenir and a taste of Vietnam.

The route, which is being operated under a partnership with South Korea’s SEYOU Corporation, will initially be flying daily round trips between the two hubs with a capacity of 2,520 seats per week.

The five-hour long flight will depart Hanoi every night at 1:45AM and arrive in Seoul at 7:55AM and depart Seoul every morning at 11:05AM and arrive in Hanoi at 2.10PM (all local times).

SEYOU has been appointed as a General Sales Agent to sell tickets in South Korea and that moving forward VietJet would expand sales throughout all existing ticket channels to meet demand in both countries.

VietJet currently operates 27 local and international routes. Besides its latest connections to South Korea, the airline offers direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Bangkok, Thailand and from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore.

The airline will soon further expand its network in the Asia-Pacific Region and also intends to launch more joint ventures with other regional airline partners following the unveiling of Thai VietAir, in association with Kan Air in 2013, which operates internal flights from Bangkok to major tourism destinations in Thailand such as Chiang Mai and Phuket.
