Award-winning hospitality design company, BLINK Design Group, has secured the interior design brief for the 12-hectare Six Senses Bali project announced recently at a signing ceremony in the Indonesian capital.

Located in the southwest of Bali at Uluwatu, the resort is set atop a rugged cliff, sharing ocean views with the island's famed Uluwatu Temple and will fuse the commitment of Six Senses to environmental responsibility and top-tier facilities with BLINK's discerning approach to instilling a distinct sense of place in the project while working with local materials and suppliers.

The Six Senses Bali project signing took place in Jakarta and included the following executives (l-r): Project Developer P.T. Cahaya Warna Prima President Harry Gunawan; BLINK Design Group Founder and Senior Creative Director Clint Nagata; Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas President Bernhard Bohnenberger and Vice President Architecture and Technical Services Andrew Best. Six Senses Bali will include 28 sky villas, 62 one-bedroom villas, seven two-bedroom villas and a one-of-a-kind retreat villa that sits on a prominent knoll with sweeping views of the ocean and overall resort. Two restaurants, a pool bar and a specialty restaurant with chef's table, cooking school and extensive organic garden are also planned.

The project will be completed in two stages. The first phase includes the resort, which rests on 16 acres (6.5 hectares) while phase two includes 60 residential villas available for purchase including luxurious three-bedroom family retreats.

BLINK Design Group Founder and Senior Creative Clint Nagata said: "Six Senses is a brand that embraces all the values and bespoke qualities held closely by BLINK and represents an ideal fit. We are really excited about having the opportunity to bring the brand to life, which means it's all about being natural and respecting the culture and the locale. The design is unique to the site, offering a distinctive view for each villa, giving great scope to a lot of different atmospheres, tones and emotions.

"We will source materials locally where we can, which will give the villas an original, authentic appearance while ensuring they complement the environment and destination."

Six Senses President Bernhard Bohnenberger said he is delighted to be working with BLINK, a company with which he is well acquainted. "We've been talking with BLINK for many years and we thought that when the right project comes along we'll work together. We are enjoying the partnership and I hope it's the beginning of more collaborations."

"The dramatic, sweeping, ocean views and the philosophy of respect for the local culture would be the guiding light for the design team. We believe we have to preserve what we're actually selling. It is always the key for us and it is wonderful to have found someone with a vision that is so aligned with ours."

Six Senses Bali is scheduled for completion late-2017.
