New business model - Public Access Lagoons - will positively impact revenue increase visitors and improve the quality of life
  • Proven concept that will benefit Thailand and the public

Crystal Lagoons, a multinational water innovation company, is expanding its footprint in Thailand by creating a new revolution in recreational entertainment with its new business model – Public Access Lagoons (PAL). The business model aims at creating additional revenue for such venues as golf courses, racetracks, stadiums, and cycling/ running tracks, while increasing the activity level of visitors.

Public Access Lagoons (PAL) is a revolutionary new concept that complements recreational venues such as amusement and water parks, zoos and aquariums, among others by revolutionizing the performance and untapped lands including public parks, stadiums, university campuses, competitive horse and speed tracks, to name just a few, by transforming them into revenue generators.

The Public Access Lagoons by Crystal Lagoons transforms each development into a recreational/family destination and upgrades each venue into the next generation in entertainment. This can be done sustainably through its Crystal Lagoons' proprietary technology.

Mr. Jaime Rivera, Crystal Lagoons' Regional Director for Southeast Asia said, "Whenever we think about going on vacation or taking a relaxing break, the idea of white sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters immediately springs to mind. We have come up with this new business model that will make it easy for existing venues to transform themselves into a tropical paradise. The concept is very simple, we would partner with developers to help reduce the initial investment and we then earn a small percentage of the ticket income."

Jaime continued, "I am very pleased to share that we have successfully partnered with two major projects, one being Wynn Resort in Las Vegas, and the second located in Turkey. In September, we are also planning to launch two new projects in the region.

I am confident that this model will work very well in Thailand and Asia, because it is a revenue generator and at the same time increases the quality of life of the citizens, giving them the chance to enjoy tropical beach life, especially those that may not have a chance to normally do so, and this can be done under very sustainable technology.

Take for example Sky Lane, which rings Suvarnabhumi International Airport, where people go for cycling, and running, with the addition of a crystal-clear lagoon, this great location would then become a regional or global sports and family hub, or even become the latest tourism destination. Authorities and the private sector could organize international sports event like triathlons, ironman, water polo, beach volleyball, to name a few . As well, the whole family can spend time there together on the weekend enjoying a wonderful tropical beach in the city. During week days, public schools, universities, retirees, among others, can enjoy this amenity. This will help raise the happiness level amongst Thais, increasing their quality of life, and it all can be done at a very reasonable investment and operational cost.

There are many locations that could be a great site for PAL such as Benjakitti Park, Rama IX Park, Chatuchack Park, as well as in other cities like Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Khon Kaen, Udon Tani, and several others throughout the Kingdom.

Public Access Lagoons can generate stunning beachfronts with high visitor traffic at an existing venue, create endless possibilities of opportunities for everyone to relax and socialize in a safe environment at any time of day, retaining visitors for a longer time and positively impacting revenue generation.
