Experienced Swiss chef to lead the kitchen teams at the boutique island's top Thai branded 5-Star beach resort and upscale dining destination

Koh Samui's original luxury choice for an indulgent beachfront villa or suite stay, Santiburi Beach Resort & Spa, has announced the appointment and arrival of Swiss-born Adrian Hauenstein as the resort's new Executive Chef.

Chef Adrian's culinary talents and passion for presentation, quality and the finest ingredients have been developed during a career working in a diverse array of restaurants around the world. His previous posts include Park Hotel Winterthur near Zurich International Airport, the luxurious Ayada Hotel & Resort, which is included in the Conde Nast Traveller list of best hotels in the Maldives, and The Shop in Cambodia, a renowned bakery, bistro and chocolatier. As Executive Chef for the Swiss Army, the talented yong chef was the proud recipient of a Gamelle d'Or award for the best barracks kitchen, an honour issued by the Swiss Government.

Having since created dishes for gourmet restaurants and fine food outlets around the world, Chef Adrian has a keen eye for the best produce and freshest ingredients. He brings his finely tuned skills and broad knowledge of global cuisine to Santiburi's eclectic eateries, where he plans to enhance the menus and add his own creative flair.

The resort already offers guests a wide choice of top quality Thai and international dishes. My aim is to focus on all aspects of the dining experience, from staff training to food presentation, and to make sure that every restaurant at Santiburi matches the tastes and exceeds the expectations of our guests and visitors. Cooking is my passion as well as my profession. For me, fresh, quality ingredients are the foundations for in all types of cuisine."

Santiburi Koh Samui features a choice of appealing dining venues. The Vimarnmek breakfast room serves an impressive daily buffet featuring a vast range of items, including freshly baked breads and pastries, cereals, cold cuts and cheeses, as well as Asian and international dishes prepared at live cooking stations. The Poolside Bar serves a varied menu of salads, snacks, light meals and pizza, while The Beach House offers a range of delicious dishes for lunch and dinner by the ocean, including the island's premier gourmet beachfront surf & turf dining experience with a choice of tantalizing seafood and meat combinations. Meanwhile, lovers of Thailand's famous cuisine can indulge in a range of traditional dishes prepared using classic recipes at the resort's authentic Sala Thai Restaurant.
