The senior management team at SALA Hospitality Group has reported a promising start for SALA Samui Chaweng Beach Resort since opening its doors in late January 2018, supported by a team of key hirings including a newly appointed Assistant Director of Sales, Sales and PR Manager, and E-Commerce Manager.

Favourable occupancy levels and strong room rates are in line with a destination thriving at the high end - a market SALA has successfully pioneered in the boutique segment first through SALA Samui Choengmon Beach Resort, followed by SALA Phuket Resort and Spa and before returning to Koh Samui to open its third luxury SALA branded resort in Chaweng this year.

"The opening of SALA Resorts and Spas' latest property is the first step in our next chapter of growth and expansion. The team has put a lot of hard work into building the brand and ensuring efficient operations. With our handpicked team of sales professionals to help drive bookings, I am sure SALA Samui Chaweng Beach Resort will follow the footsteps of its sister property and establish itself as a home-grown success story for Koh Samui and Thailand," said Nicolas Reschke, Group Director of Business Development of SALA Hospitality.

Starting off as a Guest Relation Officer at the JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok, she then started climbing the career ladder in sales at Grand Millennium Sukhumvit, Pullman Bangkok King Power, and The Peninsula Bangkok. Most recently, she was Senior Sales Manager at Conrad Bangkok where for nearly three years she worked on increasing booking opportunities in both the leisure and MICE segments.

Prior to joining the team at SALA headquarters in Bangkok, he spent nearly four years at Twinpalms Phuket Resort, where he rose through the ranks to become Revenue and Reservations Manager. Before that, he has also worked with the Outrigger, Alila, and Sofitel brands across Thailand.

Patcharin Juangthong, Sales and PR Manager, SALA Samui Chaweng Beach Resort

Khun Patcharin is no stranger to the SALA Hospitality team. She originally joined as sales executive at sala rattanakosin Bangkok in 2012. Within two years she was promoted to Events and PR Manager at the same property, where she put her multi-tasking skills to use coordinating with multiple parties to set up events. She also took ownership of international communications initiatives and managed the hotel's social media accounts. Before joining SALA, she previously worked at The Evason Hua Hin, The Dome at lebua, and The Peninsula Bangkok, as well as a stretch in Oslo, Norway, where she also worked at Radisson Blu Oslo.

The phase one launch of SALA Samui Chaweng Beach Resort in January 2018 saw the opening of the Oceanfront Wing, comprising 52 pool villas and pool suites sized between 74 square metres (sqm) and 304 sqm, featuring private pools between 18 sqm and 52 sqm in size. Just in time for summer, a beach bar will open at the resort by July to complement THE TENT Beachfront Restaurant.

The second phase of SALA Samui Chaweng Beach will be completed in 2019 and will comprise 83 rooms, pool villas and pool suites, as well as the SALA Spa and SALA Gym, a garden oasis swimming pool with inviting Garden Pool Bar, plus an open-air show kitchen with an exciting roadside restaurant and bar concept.
