THAI Smile provides New Year’s Eve travel tips

THAI Smile Airways would like to encourage all passengers to get prepared for travelling during the New Year's Eve since there are a large number of passengers waiting for both domestic and international routes. Passengers should arrive at the airport in advance for two hours of your domestic flights and three hours for international flights. For valuables like cash, mobile phone, iPad, camera, laptop or notebook, jewelry, passengers put them on a bag and take it on board. Do not load it under the cargo compartment. All kinds of power banks are not allowed to be loaded under the compartment. However, according to the policy that passengers are allowed to bring power banks with less than 20,000 mAh (max 20 pieces) to take on board or the capacity between 20,000 - 32,000 mAh (max 2 pcs.) are allowed to take on board as well. Meanwhile, in all cases, it is prohibited for a power bank over than 32,000 mAh

In a case which passengers are required to carry their personal items in liquid, gel and spray such as lotions, perfumes, shampoos, shaving foam, deodorant spray (LAGs), packed into the baggage and carried by passengers (Carry-on items must be placed in a packaging that is limited to 100 ml per pack and must be placed in a transparent plastic bag (ziploc bag) with a total volume of not more than one liter or 1,000 ml. Moreover, no LAGs in a package greater than 100 ml are allowed on board, even if the remaining volume is less than 100 ml.

In addition, there is a campaign that saying of the word "EXPLOSIVE" or "RABERD" is subject to some offenses under the Air Navigation Act. Mrs. Charita Leelayuth, acting CEO of THAI Smile Airways revealed that it was found that there were a number of passengers did not realise that saying "EXPLOSIVE" or "RABERD" on an aircraft is subject to some offenses under the Air Navigation Act. Various actions have been clearly prescribed under Article 22 that expressly states that any person who discloses a message or sends information that is known to be false and whether that is the cause or likely to be the cause of panic for a person in an airport or on board an airplane. The offender shall be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to a fine not exceeding 200,000 baht or both. If such action forms part of causes for damages to an in-flight aircraft, the offender is subject to imprisonment from 5-15 years or fine from 200,000 - 600,000 baht or both. In the event that any passenger utters the word "RABERD" outside the aero plane, for instance, at the check-in counter or on boarding process, he/she may be litigated or fined from the offense of causing some annoyance to public.

"Not only saying explosives in prank, but also other words like hijack and terrorism are not allowed to articulate, since the airport is a safe haven. In the event that an airline officer witnesses or hears a message that may affect the safety, the airline authorities are required to notify the relevant authorities without exception. The airport security officers are obliged to follow the guidelines of safety rules and related Act as per the prescribed procedures. A passenger who says "BLAST" will have to be sent to the police station for further investigation and the baggage will be carefully checked. In some cases, it may cause in the delay of the flights and other passengers may get widely affected.
