Based on the Thai word for "play", Len is an innovative concept that takes the stress out of family travel and allows parents and kids to reconnect through wellness, activities and dining

Santiburi Koh Samui, the luxurious retreat on Koh Samui's stunning north shore, is elevating family breaks with "Len", its holistic new concept that allows parents and kids to stay and play together in paradise.

In Thai, Len means "play", which is an integral part of the local culture. Thai people love to smile, have fun and be happy, and a key aspect of the Len concept is being able to enjoy treasured moments with one's family. There are three elements to the Len Family programme - spa treatments, activities and gourmet - each of which has been designed to enhance the time parents and children spend with each other.

When it comes to wellness, Santiburi believes that guests are never too young to experience the soothing benefits of a spa. "Mini Me" treatments are available for guests aged between five and 13 years and include a blissful aroma body massage and gentle facial which are designed especially for younger skin and allow children to feel like grown-ups. Alternatively, the "Family Time" option includes 10 hours of spa treatments for all ages, over the course of the stay.

Families have a wealth of activities to choose from with Len, all designed to allow parents and children to enjoy new experiences together. A VIP tour of Ang Thong Marine Park, with a personal pick-up at Santiburi beach, enables families to cruise in style on the shimmering sea, swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters, trek to an island viewpoint and gaze out over an emerald lake, creating amazing family photo opportunities and memories will last a lifetime.

Back at Santiburi, the "Cooking with Kiddos" class teaches families how to conjure up delectable dishes together, accompanied by the resort's expert chefs. This activity could uncover new junior master chefs and inspire a love of cooking in youngsters. But even if it doesn't, sweet treats are included to keep all kids happy!

Family meals are a key feature of Len. Food brings people together and at Santiburi, children have the chance to serve themselves and eat as equals. A series of healthy choices are available, such as salmon ceviche, vegetable summer rolls, steamed pork gyozas, edamame beans and crisp karaage chicken, introducing children to new and exotic flavours.

Finally, at Santiburi we also understand that every parent occasionally needs a little child-free time. With this in mind, the resort's weekly "Parents' Night Off" concept allows moms and dads to enjoy an evening on their own while their kids are looked after. Fully trained "fun-buddies" take care of the little ones at Panya & Yim's Junior Camp, allowing parents to relax and reconnect with each other.

Newly opened in 2018, Panya & Yim's is Santiburi's purpose-built children's activity centre. Named after its two cuddly mascots, this bright 250 square metre space offers plentiful activities such as drawing, painting and local handicrafts, plus a kid's playground with a climbing wall and a rope wall, tree-house, sandpit, a sensory garden and a grass lawn, ensuring that young guests are kept fully entertained, educated and energised.

"Family is the most important thing in life, but so often family travel can be an unnecessarily stressful experience. Many hotels and resorts don't fully consider the needs of parents, and moms and dads can find it hard to keep their children happy while on holiday. At Santiburi, we provide families with everything they need to stay and play together. Through our Len Family programme, all ages can enjoy incredible experiences and activities, creating treasured memories that will last a lifetime," said Sabine Lamberts, the resort's General Manager.

The Family programme is one of five Len journeys, along with Adventure, Relax, Romance and Culture. Each option features spa treatments, activities and dining options which can be tailored according to the guests' specific preferences.
