Hotel welcomes drivers as part of special event commemorating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Bhutan.

Dusit International's first hotel in the kingdom of Bhutan, dusitD2 Yarkay Thimphu, recently welcomed participants of the 'Bhutan-Thailand Friendship Drive – Connecting Peoples of the Two Kingdoms by Land' – an epic journey from Bangkok to Thimpu specially arranged to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Bhutan.

Co-organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Royal Bhutanese Embassy and Thairung, and sponsored by dusitD2 Yarkay Thimphu and Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines), the special drive followed the Myanmar-Thailand-India trilateral highway through the three countries – a distance of 3,000 km – completed over eight days, from 21 – 28 June 2019.

More than 20 participants took part in the drive, including government officials from Bhutan and Thailand.
Opened on 19 December 2018, dusitD2 Yarkay Thimphu, Bhutan comprises 83 well-appointed guest rooms and suites and serves as the first and largest internationally-branded hotel in Bhutan.
