express them, believes Sarah Walton, creative writing instructor who is one of the leaders of the Museflower Soul Bliss Writing Retreat held at Museflower Retreat & Spa Chiang Rai in northern Thailand.

This October 18 – 23, 2019, the Museflower Soul Bliss Writing Retreat is a 6 day/ 5 night creative writing retreat that uses meditation, spiritual exercises, and writing exercises to help you tap into your inner spirit, connect to your soul voice, get in touch with your imagination, and help break through writer's block. The program includes delicious fresh vegetarian meals from the onsite organic farm, yoga, and relaxing spa treatments in a peaceful natural environment to cleanse the body and mind to help let the creative energy flow.

"In the Soul Bliss Retreat we approach writing from the intuition", says Sarah Walton, who is co-facilitating the retreat with Museflower Retreat founder Tania Ho. "You can learn to access the imagination using meditation techniques that allow the writer to enter into the stillness required for story to flow".

Sarah has a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Hull in the UK, where she taught undergraduates. She developed an approach to writing that combines meditation and free-writing techniques that help you access the intuition, and teaches this course that works for beginners as well as writers experiencing "writers' block".

Says Sarah, "The state of the brain in meditation is very close to the state when a writer is "in flow." From that still place it is easier to access the intuition and the imagination, both of which we require to write."

This technique allows writers to learn to tune into their five senses - sight, touch, hearing, smell, taste - as well as the sixth sense of the intuition to write engaging and compelling story that taps into the imagination and comes from the inner voice. The program includes an important and powerful exercise in how to identify and let go of beliefs that hold you back, and set new goals.

Now in its third year, the Museflower Soul Bliss Writing Retreat has had participants from the US, UK, Hong Kong, and Thailand. Past guests have included both those who joined to get in touch with their inner self though journaling, as well as professional journalists wanting to write novels who joined the retreat to connect to their creative writing voice instead of the business writing they use for work.
