U-Tapao Airport has continuously trusted to develop digital solutions with AIS in the second passenger terminal since September 2018. This time, this is developing cooperation to another level to prepare for the upcoming 5G technology, which AIS, as a technology leader, has the potential of high-speed networks and skillful personnel to support the making of Smart Airport Terminal solutions with partners in all sectors to generate the newest modern digital innovations for the aviation business.

The development of cooperation in bringing 5G network to study, test, and develop solutions to be suitable for the aviation sector, including enhance the management capabilities within the terminal and use artificial intelligence (AI) robots to support in passenger service by providing necessary information as well as guidance customers to the requested service points in the form of Guide & Go and interact with users in an interactive multimedia.

From the previous that opened digital services in the 2 main parts such as 1. Thailand Smart Airport application, which provides multiple flight and airport information in one app, 2. Smart Video Analytics Solution, which working on detect and recognize faces and objects in the airport building area, including detecting suspicious objects, waring when suspicious of objects being left for a long time, to increase the efficiency of the security system and the airport management of the Thai Navy.

Vice Admiral Kitchpon Rienglekjamnong, General Manager of U-Tapao Airport, said "The government realizes the importance and potential in all dimensions of U-Tapao Airport, with supporting commercial management and in line with the development of a new airport area in the Eastern Special Development Zone Project. meet the needs of passengers, including connect and support travel and air transportation to be available to become the third commercial airport in Bangkok and be a part of driving the domestic economy, and promoting special economic zones, including connecting passengers with Don Mueang Airport, Suvarnabhumi Airport, and being the regional aviation hub."

In the past, the company has cooperated with Advanced Wireless Network Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of AIS, as the number 1 mobile phone service provider and digital leader in the country to develop digital service, computer system, and communication system to provide service in the second passenger terminal, and that has led to the further expansion of this cooperation to further develop on the new advanced technology like 5G to the next level."
