The Regent ensures its guests are well protected through health safety and hygiene measures based on the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) standard and Regent Clean & Care guidelines. In addition, a new personnel management strategy has introduced to enhance personnel skills, generate alternative income as well as provide clear job descriptions and evaluation so that both the organization and employees are able to survive in the new normal. This year, the hotel expects a 30% occupancy rate.

Mrs. Piyaman Tejapaibul, Managing Director of The Regent Group, says that with the government easing lockdown measures while promoting its recovery plan for domestic tourism, The Regent – Chaam, Hua Hin had reopened to welcome Thai tourist visitors back from July 4, 2020 after a three-month-long pause as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. The Regent spent 30 million baht to create the Family Wing, which is exclusively designed for parents and their children. The new zone offers facilities and recreational activities to lure local family groups who make up to 35% of total guests.

The Regent – Chaam, Hua Hin is committed to ensuring that guests feel confident in its health safety and hygiene measures. The hotel has received Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) certification, which is a collaborative effort by public and private sector partners to elevate the country’s tourism industry standards. Moreover, the hotel has introduced the Regent Clean & Care process to elevate cleaning and safety standards, which include temperature checks, mandatory wearing of face masks when in the public areas, the placing of hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the hotel and safe physical distancing.

For guest room services, notices are displayed to ensure the rooms are sealed off for cleaning and sanitization after guests check out and will be opened only to welcome the next guests. In addition, breakfast times are staggered to allow for social distancing. Spread over 100-rai of land, the Regent ensures that guests will feel safe, comfortable and enjoy privacy in a relaxing and peaceful natural environment.

If the organization is to remain sustainable in the era of the new normal, Mrs. Piyaman says the hotel must set a proactive strategy and place great emphasis on personnel management including drawing up detailed work schedules to foster understanding and improve efficiency. The upskilling and reskilling of the employees is essential to generate extra income while more frequent evaluations will motivate them to be alert and continuously develop.

“We're confident that Thailand's tourism industry will gradually rebound starting with the return of domestic tourism promoted through the government's campaign "We Travel Together” to help the tourism sector recover. This promotion is expected to boost the number of local tourists visiting places around the country. Cha-am is one of the most favoured destinations as it is only a short drive from Bangkok."

The Family Wing has 74 spacious rooms tailored specially to the needs of families, such as the beach-view Regency room and swimming pool-view room each covering more than 42 sqm and featuring a living area and private balcony. The Bunk Bed room has been decorated in a modern style with children sleeping in bunks in the same room as their parents. The Deluxe Family room has two bedrooms for four guests and comprises a master bedroom that connects with the children’s room. Youngsters will love the pirate-themed bedroom and sailboat beds.

The swimming pool is surrounded by a tropical garden and features a 2 – metre waterfall tower with a slide in the kid swimming pool, an outdoor playground, a relaxing area, an art zone for kids, an ice cream parlor, and pizza-making classes at Peppina On The Beach, the hotel’s Italian restaurant specializing in Neapolitan-style pizzas.

With cycling now a popular leisure activity, the hotel offers guests bike trails in the Regent Bike Park. In addition, the hotel plans to develop its organic farm by establishing a learning center and DIY workshops for kids on the concept "Life & Learn" to enhance their learning skills and create awareness of natural environment conservation. The activities include making traditional toys from banana trees, art ideas from seeds and salts, tree pot painting, clay molding, natural tie dying and a trip to find homegrown vegetables in a fun excursion for all the family. Facilities for the elderly are also available including elevator and wheelchair access to the beach.
