Thailand’s largest retail conglomerate, Central Retail Corporation, recently signed an agreement on purchasing and supply products with PTT Retail Management (PTTRM), the PTT subsidiary managing Jiffy convenience stores.

Under the terms of the agreement, Central Food Retail (CFR), a business unit under Central Retail Corporation operating a supermarket chain under the Central Food Hall, Tops Market, Tops Super and Tops Daily brands, will be responsible for the purchase and supply of a wide range of consumer products to all existing 146 Jiffy stores and future expansion in PTT gas stations throughout the country. This strategic supply chain partnership is very crucial to support strong Jiffy outlets growth both current retail formats and new innovative retail format in the future.

“PTTRM and Central Retail share the same goal of fulfilling customers’ needs with a wide range of goods and services ensuring the right product at the right time in the right quantity at the right price” said Dr Krisanapol Komolboon, Managing Director of PTT Retail Management Co., Ltd.

“We’re confident that our combined experience and commitment will help us to satisfy consumers’ requirements better, faster and at less cost. This new endeavor reflects our trust in Central Retail’s professional capability of supply chain management. The addition of Tops’ great range of supermarket products to our existing 2,000 items will give us a more distinctive assortment of products responding to the market needs. At the same time it will minimise inventory oversupply by creating flexible, demand-based ordering and replenishment leading to greater efficiencies across the entire chain.”

“Central Retail is delighted to forge a closer relationship with our new business partner PTTRM, in the purchasing and supply of products under the initial three-year agreement,” said Mr Tos Chirathivat, Chief Executive Officer of Central Retail Corporation, a parent company of Central Food Retail.

We are sure with our expertise in purchasing and supply chain management we will meet all the requirements and expectations of PTTRM. Over time we will be able to further develop synergies across both groups, ensuring that we not only meet, but exceed, the expectations of all our customers.

Having a solid and proven infrastructure, supported and operated by professional people, ensures we have the highest consistency of service, speed to market and availability, this coupled with strong supplier relationships, gives us the confidence that this combination will deliver significant efficiencies, which will benefit the customer.

Over 2,000 SKU’s will be dispensed to the 146 Jiffy outlets nationwide from CFR’s distribution centre in Bangbuathong, Nonthaburi province. This 42,000-square metre centre plays an important role in the distribution of more than 20,000 SKU’s seven days a week to the 117 CFR stores throughout the country.
