Future Energy Asia 2020 is endorsed by Thailand's Ministry of Energy and is co-hosted by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and PTT Plc. The event aims to create global awareness of the increasing need for energy sustainability, and the transformation of energy strategies by governments and energy providers to meet the potential enabled by clean energy technologies and an interconnected digital economy.

Mr. Kulit Sombatsiri, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy said: "In the light of global energy transition, Thailand has continued to face with challenges in moving toward the new energy future. Advancing inclusive access to secured, affordable and sustainable energy services is crucial for our country while clean, renewable and non-fossil energy are revolutionary trend which we are pursuing to during this "Transition Era". To cope with the global energy transition, one of the key policies that we are now endeavoring is to implement the "Energy for All" policy and "Prosumerization" strategy that will support the community and private sector to work together and to share the benefits from the investment in energy projects of the community. This will strongly support the initiative of Thai government in scaling up renewables and boosting up energy technology through the 4D1E policy i.e. Digitalization, Decarbonization, Decentralization, Deregulation and Electrification. In the spirit of international energy cooperation, Thailand places great importance on the value of regional cooperation for building a sustainable and interconnected energy future. I believe that the Future Energy Asia forum will offer opportunity for all energy stakeholders to foster collaboration on the development of energy technology and innovation as well as the strong partnership between business and government."

Nick Ornstein, Vice President Energy, DMG Events, the organizer of the Future Energy Asia Exhibition and Conference, concluded that, "The event is designed to be an all-encompassing platform that provides an excellent opportunity to drive collaboration between new energy suppliers, electricity generators and the energy transition supply chain; building alliances between public and private sectors to help build a sustainable clean energy future in ASEAN. We will host global energy policy makers, thought leaders, energy professionals, project developers and buyers and sellers who will display their products, services, established alliance, and demonstrate the innovations needed by Asian countries to further energy transition within the region."
