Mr. Paul Kanjanapas, Managing Director of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. and Executive Director of BLAND, said “Since my grandfather’s time, we have always dreamed of developing and adding value to our land in Muang Thong Thani to grow even more. In addition, the Company realizes the importance of today’s education which requires one-stop facilities and services to get a full readiness to compete and win on international stage with confidence. Silpakorn University has been recognized and honored both locally and internationally as one of the old and leading government educational institutions. Therefore, IMPACT is pleased to partner with Silpakorn University to set up the ‘City Campus’ in our Muang Thong Thani area.

Personally, I believe that this ‘City Campus’ project will be able to create tremendous opportunities and provide unrivaled benefits to all parties, particularly will be able to produce quality students who develop their exceptional knowledge and competencies from classroom and internship opportunities to gain work experience in various departments across our company through cooperative education program as well as having the chance to be considered to work with us after graduation. In terms of facilities, Muang Thong Thani is like a ‘City in City’ that combines all the requirements which answer every needs such as IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Novotel Hotel, Double Lake Condominium, BEE HIVE Lifestyle Mall, IMPACT Sports Club, etc. Therefore, there is a high possibility to develop the campus to be ‘ASEAN Creative Center City.’

Besides the strategic plans of Muang Thong Thani, we also have other projects to develop on the area of over 100 rai to accommodate and fulfill the lifestyle of people of all ages and genders in Muang Thong Thani to the fullest. These include a 600-room Ibis Hotel, the first phase of a 500-room dormitory with a total investment of 1.5 billion baht, all indoor parking which can accommodate up to 15,000 cars and a shopping complex, aiming to be a one-stop entertainment center which will color the lives and happiness of university students, lecturers and other people living in Muang Thong Thani. Professor Chaicharn Tavornvej, President of Silpakorn University, said “The most crucial aspect that made Muang Thong Thani the best among other locations is the potential of location which is the largest hub of international exhibition and convention in Asia. In addition, it provides one-stop facilities and services to accommodate the educational management and help reduce the university’s investment budget, which can fully respond to government policies and will be able to reflect its result-oriented and productivity, enhancing its potential and development in relevant areas to finally achieve the objective for establishing the ‘City Campus’ at Muang Thong Thani. With a total investment of 600 million baht on a 10-rai site, it is expected that the first educational building will be fully operated within academic year 2015.

Since founded, Silpakorn University has shown a continued growth and expansion in education, starting with the four traditional faculties related to arts, culture and design at Wang Tha Phra Campus. Today, Silpakorn University consists of 14 faculties and has expanded its educational operations at Sanam Chan Palace Campus in Nakon Pathom and Phetchaburi IT Campus in Phetchaburi, comprising 5,000 new students annually per each campus, out of the total of 30,000 students. Therefore, the expansion of education management in Bangkok is very essential, especially increasing enrollment in master’s and doctorate programs to offer the opportunity to officer workers in the city to develop their proficiency and leverage knowledge level to achieve their career life as well as offering the university’s highlighted courses emphasized on arts, culture and design for international students.”

“Another education project of Silpakorn University is the establishment of International Demonstration School to welcome the coming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The School will be distinctive from other general secondary schools with an emphasis on promoting the skills and competencies of students in arts, design and music along with ordinary education to prepare students to get ready for post-secondary level in profession fields while offering the opportunity to students to figure out their skills and proficiency so that they will be able to choose the right degree program for themselves. By doing so, it will make their lives at the university happier and finally become a successful graduate.” Professor Chaicharn concluded.
