Three winning Thai projects represent Thailand to compete in The 10th Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy in June 2016

Thai Gypsum Products Public Company Limited, the manufacturer of leading gypsum innovations under the brand "Gyproc," is delighted to announce that its three winning entries including The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Bed by Cruise at Samakkhi-Tivanont Hotel and Prince Mahidol Hall which were selected in Thailand's inaugural Saint-Gobain Gyproc National Trophy Thailand 2015 will represent Thailand to compete in the final round of the 10th Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy puts these entries among 89 projects from around the world. The final event will be held in Prague, Czech Republic 3rd of June, 2016.

Saint-Gobain Gyproc National Trophy Thailand 2015, one of the largest gypsum industry competitions, attracted a high caliber of competing entries across its innovation/sustainability, Plasterboard and health/education/hotel categories, with top performing entries chosen by an honorable committee of gypsum experts and representatives from the construction industry. The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), a 70,000sqm new build, was named as winner of the Innovation and Sustainability award; Bed by Cruise at Samakkhi-Tivanont Hotel, a cruise ship-inspired hotel took top honors in Plasterboard category; Prince Mahidol Hall, a dramatically styled educational building in Nakhon Pathom Province, was winner of the Segment Solutions (Health/education/hotel) category. The three winners will now compete for the 10th Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy in Prague with other contractors coming from over 35 different countries and nominated 89 projects.

Last year's Thai National competition, the first event of its kind in Thailand, attracted a strong selection of entries, which resulted in the overall excellent feedback for the competition. It enabled us to discover three standout developments in Thailand which use Gyproc products throughout their construction. Now the three standout architects/owners, namely Architects & Associates, Architects 49 Limited Company and Mrs. Wajeeporn Taneepan (Owner of Bed by Cruise at Samakkhi-Tivanont Hotel) will represent Thailand with their magnificent projects."

The 10th Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy is a unique construction industry event, and one of the largest international competitions of its kind, created in 1998 to recognize and reward the craftsmanship of drywall and plastering contractors. The trophy aims to promote excellence and innovation in the use of sustainable, lightweight plasterboard systems and plasters.

The International Trophy campaign is organized by Saint-Gobain Gypsum subsidiaries over a two year period, starting with regional and national events, and culminating in an international competition. This year the international event is hosted by Saint-Gobain Rigips Czech Republic. Projects are entered and judged in 6 categories: plasterboard, plaster, innovation & sustainability, education, healthcare & hospitality, residential and commercial (non-residential buildings including leisure & retail) by an international and independent panel of Gypsum experts.
