Photo Release: Thai AirAsia, TAT attract more Chinese tourists

Thai AirAsia and the Tourism Authority of Thailand are boosting Thailand’s popularity in China by jointly organizing tours for the Chinese media. Both recently hosted 20 reporters from Xiamen’s biggest media outfits who visited the famous tourist attractions of Bangkok, Pattaya, Rayong, Sriracha and Ko Larn.

Thai AirAsia CEO Tassapon Bijleveld (right) shares with the media the airline’s expansion plans in China. Thai AirAsia plans to add more flights to Xiamen and to open routes to more Chinese cities. It will start daily flights to Shenzhen on July 15.

The airline will also increase flight frequencies to twice daily for the Bangkok-Phnom Penh route starting July 23, twice daily for the Bangkok-Surat Thani route starting August 1, and thrice daily for the Bangkok-Hanoi route also starting August 1.
