KTC is in its ready mode to expand into wedding business. Ignite the flame with 9 styles of nuptial events with irresistible offers and privileges. KTC announces its final preparation to launch into wedding business. More than nine styles of wedding ceremony will be offered for selection. To kick off the project, arms in arms with MasterCard Worldwide and established business partners, KTC unveils the fourteen lucky couples to tie the knot at the world’s first balloon wedding in Chiang Mai. The event, which is titled KTC MasterCard Viva in the Air 2008, will be co-located with Chiang Mai International Heritage Festival 2008. Green Valley golf course in front of Polytechnic Lanna College will be the venue for this grand ceremony. This world record event will feature a series of enjoyable activities including concerts by top artists, international performances, parades, country stalls and Musical Night Glow balloon show from March 5th to 9th, 2008. Interested tourists can take part in this historic event by purchasing a ticket for only 50 Baht or by using only 99 KTC Forever Rewards points. It is expected that the event will attract more than 100,000 visitors.

On the event day, all fourteen couples will be dressed in the costumes of their dream which will be delicately crafted by Ajarn Komol Panichpan of Komol Pah Boran in Chiang Mai. These are the costume they will wear at their marriage registration on the balloon at Green Valley golf course and another Lanna costume for the traditional blessing ceremony at which the couples will arrive in carriages. As well, there will be a gala night at Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Hotel with genuine Lanna performances supervised by Ajarn Manop Manakaem of Fine Arts Department, Chiang Mai University. All fourteen couples will have photographs taken in front of the Royal Pavillion (Hoh-Cum Lhuang), in Chiang Mai by a world renowned Italian photographer before going on a honeymoon at Mae Fah Luang Ranch and Doi Tung in Chiang Mai. Everyone present at the ceremony certainly will be astounded by its magnificence.

As for Chiang Mai International Heritage Festival 2008, featured programs include concerts by Thailand’s top artists like the hugely popular Groove Riders, ETC and Calorie’s Blah Blah who will be crooning sweet tunes to match the romantic setting of the event, international performances like the flamenco dance, parades by world-class bands and twenty country booths. The highlight of the event will be the Musical Night Glow balloon show —Chiang Mai’s first visual and audio performance of balloons and fireworks.”
