Central Retail Corporation Ltd. expands its foreign book business by joint venture with “Page One Holdings”.

After in book business about a decade, aka “B2S”, Central Retail Corporation Ltd.’s Chief Executive Officer Tos Chirathivat has made another decision to found “Central Page One (Thailand) Co., Ltd., amid economic and political instability. The company will spend a 200 million Baht investment for 13 new stores, at B2S Chidlom, CentralWorld, ZEN, Pinklao and Ladprao and more next year. The partnership proportion is 50.1 % Central Retail Corporations Ltd.

Tos Chirathivat pressed “I believe this would be our great opportunity for Central Retail to strengthen our position of the leading book retailing and especially for Thai readers and expatriates to have more selection of foreign books as the foreign book market value currently reach 2,000 million Baht. The synergy will increase 20% - 25% more market share. Also, we hope that the customer base is 20 % more extensive which are targeted to office worker group, children, family and people fond of arts, fashion, and architecture. Central Retail Corporation and Page One Holdings has share a common business moral “To be number one for what we do”. Now, we both combine our retailing capability and market channel, thereafter, our customers receive the best alternative.”

Central Retail Corporation has staked 39.1 % in Page One Holdings Pte., Ltd. in 2006. Page One Holdings won many international awards including, Best Bookstore Award three years for HK Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards 1999, 2005, 2006 and President’s Design Award —Design of the Year 2007.
