SCBS introduces new DWs based on underlying high-liquidity stocks

Friday 22 January 2016 11:31
SCB Securities (SCBS) has introduced 15 new derivative warrants (DWs) based on underlying stocks with high liquidity in trading in various industries to provide investors with an opportunity to earn attractive yields in the midst of market fluctuations. With tenors of 8 months, AAV23C1608A, AOT23C1608A, BLAN23C1608A, CENT23C1608A, MINT23C1608A, STPI23C1608A, and TMB23C1608A will be offered for sale in the form of call warrants and AOT23P1608A, BBL23P1608A, INTU23P1608A, KBAN23P1608A, PTT23P1608A, PTTE23P1608A, SCC23P1608A and TRUE23P1608A in the form of put warrants.

The new DWs are very attractive because their gearing ratio is as high as 4-4.5 times, so they are suitable for investors who are looking for higher yields than those of common stocks. And since the time decay is low, investors can make long-term investment. In other words, these offer a good chance for investors to earn attractive returns despite market volatility. The DWs also have lower risks than those issued by other companies because SCBS has an internationally-recognized Fitch Rating credit rating of AA- (tha) with "Stable" outlook and local short-term rating of F1+ (tha). Investors can be confident in financial instruments issued by SCBS with its reliable credit ratings and the strategic competence of its parent firm Siam Commercial Bank as demonstrated by its excellent retail banking management and continued sound performance results.

Currently SCBS has issued 51 call warrants and 12 put warrants better catering to the various needs of investors. The new DWS will begin trading on the SET from today.

The call and put warrants, carefully selected based on underlying stocks with strong fundamentals, include derivative warrants for the following companies:

In addition, SCBS will provide investors with a "Price Guideline" investment assistance tool featuring a table of buyback offers by market makers. With this tool, investors will be in a position to evaluate DW prices properly when comparing prices of underlying stocks and remaining tenors. Calculation is made using the Black-Scholes model under the assumptions established by market makers. DW prices will be guaranteed based on the buyback offer table under conditions set by market makers. Investors can study conditions and learn how to use the tool at www.scbs.com/DW.
