Miss Puntharika Saenrit, Manager of Firework Media Thailand Co., Ltd, said the World Sugar Expo & Conference 2018 hold between 17-18 October 2018 is an annual grand event for all industry insiders in Southeast Asian region, which is the major sugar producers and suppliers to the global market. Thailand is the world's 2nd largest supplier and the 4th largest producer of sugar. At present, sugar industry is in need of new technologies and equipment to reduce cost of production and export.
The World Sugar Expo & Conference has been organized continuously for five consecutive years to showcase products and technologies involving the sugar and sugarcane as well as related industries from upstream to downstream businesses in international level. The event has got support from both private and public agencies including the Industry Ministry, the Office of the Cane and Sugar Board, Thai Sugar and Bio-energy Producers Association, Thailand Society of Sugar Cane Technologists, Thai Sugar Millers Association, Thai Sugar and Bio-Energy Producers Association, and the Sugar Industry Trading Association. The event also receives official support from Vietnam Sugar and Sugarcane Association.
In addition, it also got support from 55 sugar millers all over Thailand such as Thai Sugar Miller Corporation, Kaset Thai International Sugar Corp PCL, Ktis Bio Ethanol Co Ltd, Khonburi Sugar PCL, and Samart Kaset-Yon Limited, the Thai sugarcane harvest developer and exporter to the global market.
Miss Puntharika also said that the event will incorporate the World Sugar Conference 2018 under the topic "Convergence and Divergence in the Asean Sugar and Ethanol Industry". Leading people in the sugar and ethanol industry in Thailand and Southeast Asia are to be speakers at the conference. The conference still focuses on trade, investment and technologies which will be a good opportunity for interested people and those involving in the industry.
"The event is not just a trade show but it aims to inspire industry people to apply modern technologies to help them achieve business goals. Technology is an important tool to reduce production costs and provides business opportunities for sellers and buyers who are direct decision makers," said Miss Puntharika.
