THAI Smile Practices Social Distancing Onboard to Prevent COVID-19 Spread, Leaving Seat Vacant Between Two Passengers in Domestic Flights THAI Smile Airways care for all passengers traveling during the outbreak of COVID-19 by offering seat allocations that leave a seat vacant between two passengers in every flight, except flights with many passengers onboard and seats that have been pre-booked. Our seat allocation complies with public health recommendations on social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure passengers’ safety throughout the flight. THAI Smile operates domestic flights as normal.

Mrs. Charita Leelayudth, CEO of THAI Smile Airways, said the COVD-19 outbreak continued to worsen and affected travel decisions, resulting in a decrease in the overall number of passengers.

However, THAI Smile operates domestic flights as normal as it sees that there are still passengers who need to travel, for personal or business reasons, as well as passengers who are medical personnel. There is also a need to transport medical equipment to various provinces. As the safety of all passengers and employees are the top priority of THAI Smile, the airline has introduced seven measures and instructed all staff to strictly comply with them. The most recent measure is the seat allocation that leaves a seat vacant between two passengers to ensure their safety while traveling with the airline.

THAI Smile’s domestic routes that operate normal schedules include Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Chiang Mai, Phuket, Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Surat Thani, Narathiwat, and Krabi. 10 routes and 476 flights/week in total.
