American Women’s Club of Thailand presents 1.95 million baht to EDF Foundation to support Thai needy female students’ education

The presentation is part of American Women’s Club of Thailand (AWC)’s commitment aimed at brightening up the future of Thai needy female students through education.

AWC collaborated with EDF Foundation in 2012. Since its partnership in 2012 until the current year, 2020, there are total 3,271 scholarships worth 19,032,000 baht provided to Thai female needy students around the country.

Established in 1987 and registered as a charitable organization No. 255 under the laws of Thailand, the EDF Foundation from 1988-2019 provided 382,048 scholarships worth 658,164,049 million baht to students in some 5,640 schools around Thailand.

For its commitment to help the less fortunate children especially on education in Thailand for 32 years, the EDF Foundation received several recognitions, including 5 Star rating award for its Good Governance &Transparency and Financial Efficiency from Giving Back Association in 2016, Thailand NGO Awards 2012 for large organization category from the Rockefeller Foundation, Kenan Institute Asia and the Resource Alliance, Thai Morality Award from Association of the Union of the Disabled of Thailand in 2014 and Golden Kalapapruek Award from Khon Kaen University in recognition of the foundation’s continuous development of scholarship programs and educational development projects in 2013.
