SET group and SET Foundation extend a helping hand to Thai society, donating almost THB 50 million via 95 organizations and foundations in the ongoing battle against the COVID pandemic

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) group together with the SET Foundation play a part in helping the society during COVID-19 pandemic, contributing a total of THB 49.50 million (approx. USD 1.51 million) through 95 organizations, agencies and foundations to hospitals, healthcare agencies and those less fortunate living in communities.

SET President Pakorn Peetathawatchai said that amid the severe COVID-19 spread situation currently, collaboration from all sectors is crucial to help the country ride through the difficulties. SET is determined to take part in assisting people and society in consistent with SET's vision "To Make the Capital Market 'Work' for Everyone".

"Since the COVID-19 outbreak begun, SET has continuously provided both economic and social supports. SET and the SET Foundation has donated THB 49.5 million to 95 organizations, agencies and foundations in both Bangkok and upcountry to help people, hoping to play part in relieving impacts. Of the total philanthropic support, 32.45 million has been contributed to 35 hospitals and field hospitals, and healthcare agencies to help tackle the spread including funding for medical equipment and supplies, negative pressure isolation rooms, sterilizing cabinets, and biosafety mobile unit; and the remaining 17.05 million has been used for assisting underprivileged people in communities through 60 civil society, foundations and charitable organizations. Amid the escalating spread in 2021, SET steps up efforts to deliver wide-scale assistance." Pakorn added.

SET is committed to taking part in supporting organizations and agencies responsible for taking care of people until the situation gets better.
