Sandy is set to make his return to the GT World Challenge Asia championship, which is scheduled to kick-off in Sepang, Malaysia from the 20-22 of May. Sandy will be racing with X-Works Racing with the new 2022-spec Audi R8 GT3 Evo II,competing in the largest and most professional GT3 racing series in Asia. After a 2 year long hiatus due to the global circumstances, the series will finally be waving the green flag for racing to get underway. The series will feature the opening round in Malaysia, followed by 4 rounds in Japan, at Suzuka International Circuit, Fuji Speedway, Sportsland Sugo, and Okayama International Circuit respectively. The championship finale will take place at the brand new Mandalika Circuit in Lombok, Indonesia.

"I'm over the moon to be back in GT World Challenge Asia again, this was our original plan back in 2020, but we all know what happened so this plan never made it to fruition. I'm now happy to say that we are back on target, and I'm looking forward to competing internationally once again." Explains Sandy.

In addition to the GT World Challenge Asia, Sandy will continue his partnership with B-Quik Absolute Racing Team in the Thailand Super Series, also racing the new 2022-spec Audi R8 GT3 Evo II. Sandy finished in 4th position overall in last year's championship standings after a hard fought season. The 2022 Thailand Super Series will commence at the world-renowned Bangsaen Street Circuit, in Chonburi, Thailand. Sandy is currently the all-time lap record holder at the circuit (1:32.859), after his successes there in 2019. The circuit has since not seen a race, with 2022 being the first event held on the beach-side streets since the global pandemic. The championship will then host the remaining 3 rounds at Thailand's top permanent racing facility; the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand.

"I'm very happy to be extending my partnership with B-Quik Absolute Racing this season, we have a very good relationship and I have enjoyed being in this family since 2019. This year, our goal does not change. We are here to win and that is our target. The team has not left a stone unturned and we will give it our best shot to try to take back the crown! I'm looking forward to a great battle with all of the great competitors in 2022", explains Sandy.

Furthermore, Sandy will also continue his term as an Official Audi Sport Asia driver, and will also be entering his 21st year of support from The Pizza Company, which has been sponsoring Sandy since he was just 6 years old, competing in go-karts.
